Persnickety Prints
Reprint Rate 3.5% to 2.8% | OTIF 95% to 98%
The Situation
Persnickety Prints is a custom photo printing and photo products brand founded around 2011, headquartered in Logan, Utah. The company specialises in high-quality photo prints, canvases, photo books, and holiday cards, targeting consumers who value colour accuracy and archival quality.
The business operates a pure DTC model via persnicketyprints.com with no significant Amazon or wholesale presence. As a made-to-order operation, there is no finished goods inventory risk. Production runs in-house at their Logan facility using professional wide-format inkjet printers with archival-quality paper stocks.
An in-house production operation with genuine quality and throughput issues. The problems were internal -- scheduling bottlenecks, reprint rates from quality failures, and carrier inefficiency were eroding margin and capacity.
- Reprint rate at 3.5%
- OTIF at 95%
- Production scheduling bottlenecks
- No formal yield tracking
- Carrier mix not optimised for cost or speed
